Bucks Single Mat WINTER League 2023-

The Bucks Winter League season will soon be underway. All the clubs involved are looking forward to meeting up with friends and colleagues from other clubs around the County. Some clubs did meet in the Summer League but numbers were still very much restricted.
The schedules for all three leagues can be found by clicking on the links as shown on the Navigation bar above. The first games will be played during week commencing Monday 3rd October and will run through to the beginning of March 2023.
BUCKS SINGLE MAT LEAGUE:
In the Bucks Single Mat League, there are 13 clubs registered and these have been arranged into two divisions, on a geographical basis. These are as follows:
RED LEAGUE: Chinnor, Haddenham, Hardwick, Long Crendon, Wendover A, Wendover B, Wendover c.
BLUE LEAGUE: Amersham, Bellingdon, Chesham, Holmer Green, Widmer End A, Widmer End B.
All Single Mat League matches are played over 9 ends, with games made up of one single, one pair and one triple.
Singles are played with four woods, whilst Pairs and Triples are played with three woods. There are no roll ups but there is only one shot awarded on the first two ends, to stop the home team getting a runaway advantage in those first two ends.
There 6 points available, two points for a win, one point for a draw and an additional two points for the highest aggregate score over the three disciplines. At the end of the season, the winners of each division play a deciding game to find the overall winner. The League trophy is awarded at a presentation evening held in the New Year.
Chinnor are the current holders of the Single Mat trophy together with the Triples KO Trophy which will not be played for this season. A most enjoyable season of short mat bowls will be underway very soon.
Bellingdon are winners of the Single Mat Summer League trophy for 2023.
